My top UT-Bama moments

Being a member of a newer generation of Vols fans, I have embraced the Florida Gators as my most hated rival. But for the older generation of fans they will always think of Alabama as the biggest rival that Tennessee has. The game is referred to as "The Third Saturday in October" based on when the game was traditionally played although not as frequent as it used to. While Alabama has been on a streak lately, there was a time in my life where we were the ones beating Alabama on a yearly basis. Here is my top 5 UT-Bama moments over the course of my life.

 5. 1998- Tennessee 35 Alabama 18
Honorable mention as this was during the '98 National Championship year.

 4. 2000- Tennessee 20 Alabama 10
Tennessee was 2-3 at the time. Before the game we announced a freshman known as Casey Clausen as our new starting QB. Clausen never looked back and started the next 3 and a half years. We won this game and started a 6 game win streak and finished the year at 8-4.

 3. 1999- Tennessee 21 Alabama 7
Fresh off a national championship, Tennessee came into Bryant-Denny Stadium ranked #5 taking on the #10 Crimson Tide and heisman Trophy contender Shaun Alexander. Alabama jumped out to a 7-0 lead and it was all UT from there as they won 21-7.

2. 2001- Tennessee 35 Alabama 24
This is one of my favorite games of all time and one that I still remember today. Down 24-21 going into the 4th, Tennessee comes from behind to win. This was a great UT team consisting of Casey Clausen, jason Witten, Donte Stallworth, Travis Stephens among others. I recommend everybody to watch this game.

1. 2003- Tennessee 51 Alabama 43 (5OT)

The biggest moment happened during this game. The Vols faced a 4th and 19 in overtime. We converted and wound up winning in 5 overtimes.

With a win this Saturday we will see one of the biggest moments in UT Sports history.

Until next time,

Kicker Hits: Top 5 Biggest Hits by Kickers Ever

After watching Pat Mcafee's huge hit last weekend in the NFL, I thought Boy Meets Sports should do a tribute to all of the kickers that decided to put on their linebacker pants and lay the wood to somebody.  As a return man, you never want to get tackled by the kicker, I mean come on! I decided to browse the internet and YouTube and come up with a top five list on the hardest hits by kickers/ punters EVER. I hope you all enjoy this as much as we did.

5. We'll start in the arena league.  This guy even has a little swagger after the play.

4.  This was just this past weekend.  Pat McAfee NAILS Trindon Holliday.

3.  Dallas punter crushes Bucaneer return man.  He shouldn't be allowed to return punts anymore.

2.  Payne brings the pain... TWICE

 1.  And the number one hit goes to... Someone we've never heard of. Only seems right.

So a big shout out to all of you kickers out there who feel unwanted.  I know you feel like you're only good for game winners, and everyone hates you if you miss it, but maybe this montage will pay you back in some way, and show everyone that you're not just a kicker, your a football player.

To all of the returners featured in this articles, I hope you stayed in college all four years, because your football career has been leveled.

What A Catch

This past weekend of football was filled with awesome catches.  As a sports fan, we love the excitement of a great catch. We even enjoy great baseball catches sometimes!  What was the best catch of the weekend?  Was it the one handed grab of Tennessee's Marques North?  I'm not sure, but after watching SportsCenter and thinking about great catches, only one comes to mind.  This one....

I was in high school computer class when I first saw this catch.  I will admit that one of my buddies showed it to me and it's my go-to video for people looking for great youtube videos.  This catch was the best catch I've ever witnessed in my life.  It's superhuman.  I know most of you may have seen this video before, but if not, here you go.

Leave some links of catches you love or one's I should check out.  I can watch single catches for days and days.  Literally.  Link me up son!
